Sans is the brother of the Royal Guardsman, Papyrus, the oldest son of W.D Gaster and a major character in Undertale: Hard Mode/Wonderful Idea. He is a recurring character throughout the Nuetral and Pacifist Routes and is one of the two heroic antagonists on the Genocide Route alongside Asgore.
Appearance[]
Sans' Wonderful Idea appearance doesn't differ much from his Undertale counterpart. However on a Genocide Route, his facial expression and smile turns more angry and unsettling. His 'Bad Time' Eye's Blue and Yellow colors will spiral around instead of flickering back and forth. When Asgore heals his wound after being hit by Chara, some blood will remain on his mouth, hand and chest. The left side of him is obscured by a shadow in battle.
Personality[]
Sans acts similar to his Undertale counterpart, with the exception of being more serious and not as close as lazy. Despite this he still makes puns, even making one immediately after he had a brush with death.
Powers and Abilities[]
Sans is able to summon Neutral and Blue Bones. He is able to summon weapons called Gaster Blasters that fire large beams. He is also able to use Blue Soul Magic and throw the soul of the person around wherever he wishes. All of his attacks wield an ability called Karmiac Retribution that will harm someone based on high their LOVE is. He seems to be able use his Karma abilities on other monsters' attacks, such as Asgore's trident.
Trivia[]
- Sans went through a redesign from the OST video to the official Genocide ending. There is a cut mark on his shirt from where Chara attacked him and there is more blood. He no longer retains the detailed zip chain on his jacket either.
- Misterkaze stated that the reason why Sans was hit in the opening to the fight was because he wanted it to seem like a thing Toby Fox would do in Undertale.
- Sans has a watchdog per Undyne's request: His pet rock.
